Simeon Mayala

Simeon Mayala is an Assistant Lecturer of mathematics at the Unit of biomedical engineering (BME) – Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS). Also, he is a researcher at Emerging Technologies for Health Research and Development laboratory at MUHAS (ETH).

He is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Dodoma. He is an alumnus of the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) where he graduated with a Master of Science in Mathematical Sciences. He is also a graduate of the University of Dar es Salaam where he graduated with a Master of Science in Mathematical Modeling. He is a PhD student at the Department of Mathematics – University of Bergen Norway.

His research interest is the application of mathematics in solving real-life problems specifically mathematical modeling, data analysis, and medical image segmentation. He applies Python programing language for implementing solutions formulated from the problems. He has several research papers published in peer-reviewed journals.
